THE CURE FOR ISOLATION IS CONNECTION!

A long time ago, when I first started writing and this website, blogs were a big thing. I'd pop in here and tell you all about my day, and hopefully you'd leave me a comment and tell me about yours.

As time went on, I found that I just didn't have time to go to all the websites I really loved and interact with people who were writing funny, poignant and excellent blogs. And if that was the case, then I decided you guys probably didn't have the time either. So the blog just died a natural death. We all gravitated over to social media, first on Facebook, then onto Pinterest, Flickr, and Instagram. X - formerly Twitter. Now there is TikTok - and as much as I don't mind making stupid videos for you all to laugh at, I don't like TikTok.

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but any social media platform is making it harder to reach people - you - these days. Have you seen your friends disappear into a cloud of advertisements about things you don't want? Or pages you've followed but don't have an interest in anymore (that better not be my page!) And I don't know about you, but I'm never sure if what I'm reading is real or 'fake news' because AI is playing such a large role on social media.

With all this in mind, I've decided to reinvent my blog.

I'll still be posting to social media for a while, but I'd love to slowly shift my readership, all of you wonderful supporters of me,  across to here. That way, I can't get lost in your timeline, or Facebook and Instagram can't hide me because I'm not paying nameless, faceless companies to promote my posts or pages. Social Media was such a great platform when it first started, but these days, I find it zapping my energy, creativity and basically, my will to live!

The other thing I'm going to do is create a Subscriber Hub for you all. Part of it will be paid, and the other parts will be free. It will be like a book, social, reader, everything club. I see so many people crying out for connectivity these days, and I want to gather all of those people and bring them to a space that is safe, happy and warm. We have such a great community on my Facebook page (there's nearly 30,000 of you there!), and I'd love to bring you all together. We'll have Live conversations over coffee mornings, discussions on anything you want. Health, books, food, kids. Single life, married life, anything. A lot of other things thrown into the mix. This is still a work in progress and will take time to get happening, so I hope you'll come along for the ride as I make this transition back to the way we were.
