Two white boards next to each other with lots of writing on them

As you can see, my whiteboards are beginning to fill up with ideas, character descriptions and a few other things. I don't always use everything that goes up on these boards, and there's nothing plotted here, only a place to throw ideas and thoughts at. I've been troubling over how to start Book 20. Of course, if you don't have a starting point, you can't start.

Last night, I headed to bed really early, as I'd had little sleep the night before and I was pretty tired. The trouble is with writers, our brains rarely switch off. I was trying to get to sleep when, out of nowhere, the opening scene to Book 20 turned up. Just like that. I wasn't even thinking about the book, and it arrived! That's perfect!

So, at 8 pm, here I am running around in nothing but a pair of knickers and a t-shirt, throwing as many of these ideas as I could on the whiteboard so I don't forget anything. Very excited to finally have my start. No prizes as to what I'm doing today! Once I've written this scene, the ideas will be wiped off in the hope that new ones will come. Oh, and on the harvest front, it's still raining over here... And we found hail damage to the canola. Such is the life of a farmer!

Enjoy your day.
