I’ve loved all of Enid Blyton’s books, since I’ve been able to read them. I still enjoy going back and spending time in amongst the pages now. I love the fact I can read them in about half an hour and still get as much enjoyment out of them, as I did when I was eight or so.
I’m heading to Perth for part of the school holidays and one of the things the kids and I have planned, is to go and see The Enchanted Wood by Enid Blyton, as a play.
I think it’s possible that I’m more excited than the kids!
Anyway, when I got up early, a few mornings ago, this is the view that I was presented with… And this is just the way that I have always imagined the top of the Faraway Tree and The Enchanted Wood to be – it’s top most branches and leaves shrouded in mist and mystery, leading the way to another land, just as the farm looks like here.
It’s enough to make your skin prickle with excitement at what might happen…
I used to love the Faraway Tree and the Wishing Chair books.
