We have a lot of Ibis around our two farms. They love getting in around the dams and putting that long, sharp beak to work, hunting out bugs!
They come in together in huge flocks (I assume they’re called flocks and not mobs or ‘a murder’ (as in crows).
They are so graceful and hang in the air until they’ve found the perfect spot. Then, ever so gently, they come in to land. And if the paddock they’re checking out, doesn’t hold all the goodies they desire, you’ll see the whole flock make the decision at the same time and slowly soar away to look around in the next paddock.
How lucky we are to have beautiful native birds coming around in harmony with our stock and farming practises.
