This bush caught my eye as I was hurtling down the road, running late for lamb marking!
On the way back I slowly drove down the dirt road looking for what had caught my attention, when I didn’t have time to stop and look.
We call these bushes ‘Black Boys’ (from the trunks what are quite black) but I think their real name is ‘Yakka’. They don’t usually flower unless a fire has been through and there hasn’t been one here for about five years, so I was really surprised to see such a long stem and what I assume is a seed ‘box’ on the top.
Anyone got any more information they can give me about this? I thought it was pretty amazing!
